Our next Parish Weekend Away will take place on Friday 24 to Sunday 26 June 2016 at Belsey Bridge Conference Centre in Ditchingham near Bungay. Our speaker for the weekend will be Christopher Ash.
Take time for refreshment: to think, to explore your faith, to share with others, to be quiet and simply relax.
This weekend is for all the family and is an opportunity, wherever you are on your Christian journey, to enjoy the company of friends and make new acquaintances; to share in stimulating times of input and discussion; and for reflection. There will be sessions each day for adults and for our young people.
Our guest speaker for the weekend will be Christopher Ash, who will be speaking on ‘Learning to pray the Psalms’. Christopher is a pastor and author and was Director of the Proclamation Trust’s Cornhill Training Course from 2004—2015. He is married to Carolyn and they have 4 children and 3 grandchildren. As well as the sessions which Christopher will lead, there will be groups and activities for children. There will also be informal activities for all ages.
The weekend begins any time after 5:30pm on Friday 24th June and finishes after lunch on Sunday 26th June (we have use of the outdoor pool for those who wish to cool off before heading home!)
Belsey Bridge Conference Centre
Those who have been before will know that Belsey Bridge is an excellent venue with comprehensive facilities for all ages. It is set in extensive and attractive grounds and provides a warm welcoming atmosphere with plenty of space for socialising or a quiet walk.
It is fully catered, thus providing the opportunity to spend quality time together with no practical tasks required.
Activities and space for all ages
Activities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, two tennis courts, play equipment (swings, climbing frames etc) in a nearby fenced area, plus a five-a-side football pitch. There is also a shop selling books, cards and confectionery.
There is a variety of rooms, including:
- Single rooms with / without en suite
- Family rooms with 3/4 beds; some cots & z-beds
- A few double/twin
- Disabled facilities
The majority of the rooms are modern, en-suite with shower and toilet. All the rooms are under the same roof and all ground floor rooms are accessible by wheelchair. Disabled rooms have their own tea-making facilities, whilst other rooms share a kitchen on each short corridor, with kettle, tea & coffee, milk, sugar etc. which is always available.
Note: The availability of double and twin rooms is very limited so couples may be allocated single rooms. If you are a couple willing to have single rooms, please indicate on the booking form. If children from different families wish to share, we will do our best to ensure that parents are close to their children.
The food is superb and all meals are included: buffet breakfast, morning coffee and biscuits, cooked lunch, afternoon tea with home-made cakes and a cooked supper. Special dietary needs can be catered for. Please indicate on booking form.
