“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvellous deeds among all peoples.” (1 Chronicles 16:24)
We believe that one of the purposes of the Church is to make the Good News of Jesus known in our town, nation and world. That’s why “equipping people to serve others” is one of our five vision statements.
Each month we focus on a different mission organisation. They might be local, national or international. Some are large charities that you may have heard of, like Tearfund; others, like the Fifield family, have a personal connection with our church. All of them seek to make Jesus known by serving people in need.
Every organisation has a representative in the church who will give a presentation about the work and needs of the organisation, and write an article for The View, our monthly newsletter, before the start of their focus month. A proportion of the church’s regular giving for that month will be given, and anyone who wants to give an addition donation can do so using the envelopes available in church, marking the name of the organisation on the back. Most importantly, we can pray for the organisation and the people they serve, at the prayer meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month (7:45 p.m, Hyndman Centre), in the Sunday services and at home.
If you would like to know more about the organisations listed below, take a look at their websites or the notice board at the back of church, or speak to the representatives on a Sunday morning.
